Need for a change

Educational institutions have to acknowledge that simply throwing a book in front of a student and expect him to learn is no longer enough. In fact, it is not anywhere near enough. Students today, require more imaginative and interactive ways to learn and it is our responsibility to find them. The traditional methods of just face to face interaction is purely not effective any more and if we fail to see that, then we are depriving our kids of their potential and hunger to learn. Because they are hungry, we are just feeding them wrong. Some might wonder, why the sudden need for change? Well, you only have to look around you to see the way kids spend their time today. Technology has advanced so much, and whether we like it or not, is so integrated in our everyday lives, that is impossible not to include it in this part (education) as well.

That is why, here at Grammar School we make sure we offer as many innovative and interactive tools as possible in order to help the student learn in a fun and engaging way. From 3D projectors, to 3D printers, to ipads and laptops, to wi-fi connection across the whole school premises, we never allow for anything to be done in a boring way. The idea that learning is boring, is so ingrained in our minds and that is exactly what we are trying to change here at Grammar School. Because, if you manage to change the perception most students have about school and especially studying, and also the mindset that they approach it with, you have already won half the battle. Of course we are not planning to rest on our laurels and we will continue to come up with new ways to get through to our students, and convince them that learning can be fun. In this bipolar relationship between institution and student, it is important for our side not to become stubborn, but understand that, as a mother does for a child, it is our absolute duty to take care of our "children" and compromise everything for them and not the other way around.

Here at Grammar School, our students, will always come first.
